Lords of the Fallen 2 Delayed by CI Games

A new announcement by CI Games CEO reveals that Lords of the Fallen 2 has been delayed to Q1 2027.

Just this month, CI Games appeared at Summer Game Fest and provided players with platform details for Lords of the Fallen 2, revealing that the title will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games this Fall. However, it seems like plans have changed since then.

Lords of the Fallen 2 New Release Window Set for Q1 2027

According to the latest announcement on X (formerly Twitter), Lords of the Fallen 2 has been delayed and will now be released in Q1 2027. During the development process, “the Gameplay Feedback Team, a dedicated group of seasoned Souls-like veterans within our Launch Creative Team,” identified many areas where they can “further refine and strengthen the overall experience.”

The statement from the CEO adds that this additional time will allow the dev to add enhancements that will receive “additional integration, iteration, and polishing time, enabling the team to deliver the highest possible quality at launch.”

Another advantage of delaying the release of Lords of the Fallen 2 is that it allows the developers to avoid the highly competitive window of September and October 2026. If you look at the recent game release schedule, you’ll notice that many titles are targeting those months in order to steer clear of clashing with the release of GTA 6.

Check out the full statement from the CEO below:

Lords of the Fallen II is now set for a Q1 2027 release window.

As development progresses, we have worked closely with the Gameplay Feedback Team, a dedicated group of seasoned Souls-like veterans within our Launch Creative Team. Their valuable ongoing input, combined with the team’s vision, has identified meaningful opportunities to further refine and strengthen the overall experience.

These enhancements will benefit from additional integration, iteration, and polishing time, enabling the team to deliver the highest possible quality at launch.

This updated release window also strategically positions Lords of the Fallen II outside of a highly competitive holiday period, ensuring the game receives the dedicated attention it deserves.

The team remains fully energized by the strong response to our recent reveals and is deeply focused on delivering a standout dark fantasy action RPG and a worthy successor to the Lords of the Fallen franchise. We are grateful for the continued passion, feedback, and support from our community, and we look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months.
