Lollipop Chainsaw Franchise is Getting ‘Several New Projects’

Dragami Games Co., Ltd. has entered a partnership with NADA HOLDINGS CORP to develop new projects for the “Lollipop Chainsaw” IP.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, the highly anticipated remaster of the popular 2012 zombie slasher, was released last year, bringing both old and new players back to the series. It appears that the reception for this remaster was better than ever, as we can expect multiple new projects for Lollipop Chainsaw in the future.

Lollipop Chainsaw IP Development Details

Spotted by TheGamer, the latest announcement comes from Dragami Games, talking about the new partnership with Nada Holdings, allowing them to jointly develop “several new projects related to Lollipop Chainsaw”. Nada Holding is known for investing in and developing projects related to anime and game IP. Moreover, they also bring more knowledge and resources to the table for “cross-media development of IP”.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP’s success was influential in this partnership. Despite releasing the remaster 12 years after the original, it still managed to sell more than 1.5 million copies cumulatively. Moreover, the president and CEO of Dragami Games feels that through this partnership, they will be “able to create a project that will create new value while inheriting the spirit and charm of the original.”

It is difficult to determine what this partnership will entail for Lollipop Chainsaw at the moment, but it appears that we will be receiving more than just games. Nada Holdings brings cross-media development of IPs to the table, which could mean that the franchise might also receive a movie or a TV series. However, this is just speculation at this point.

In other news, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP features the controversial achievement from the original game. What are your thoughts on Lollipop Chainsaw receiving several new projects? Let us know through the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
