Max Caulfield Returns in Life is Strange: Double Exposure

life is strange double exposure

During the Xbox Games Showcase, Square Enix revealed a phenomenal trailer for Life is Strange: Double Exposure, officially announcing the return of Max Caulfield. As the protagonist of the original Life is Strange title, Max Caulfield was the first gifted character players assumed control of, picking up the ability to control time. From there, the Life is Strange franchise blossomed, and in this all-new adventure, Max is back.

Coming October 29

Max Caulfield returns to investigate the murder of her best friend (does that ring a bell?) in Double Exposure, but there’s a massive twist. She now has the ability to tear open portals between worlds, and in one, her friend is still alive and she has a chance to save her, in a way.

It looks as though Max has taken on multiple abilities since her adventures in Arcadia Bay, but it also looks like the split ending that players experienced at the end of the first game was ‘decided on’, as Chloe Price is nowhere to be found.

Here’s the trailer for Double Exposure:

It’s coming October 29 on Xbox Series X|S and PC – it hasn’t been confirmed if it’ll be a one-shot title or episodic.

  1. Square Enix cancelled a ton of games but this is getting made they sold off their western IP but they made this crap?! No Kingdom Hearts 4 but you get this garbage and they wonder why they’re losing money.

  2. They won’t make a new Sleeping Dogs or even a remake but they made this?! Forespoken bombed you would think they learned but no they haven’t.

  3. Can’t wait for this game. As soon as I saw it was going to be Max again, I’m excited! I hope that there is some connection made to the first game and the player’s decision, if they have a save file on the X-Box. Maybe near the end of the game?

  4. How many Life Is Strange games have they made? Square Enix wants to stop burning money but they make this?! We can’t get Kingdom Hearts games but they make this and bad Final Fantasy games! Meanwhile the franchise that has a chance to sell well takes 10 years in between games!! This is how you lose a fanbase with a story driven game and worse after 3 which was a mess of a game and Kingdom Hearts 4 reveal and still no update. This is such a mess! Square is just run by morons! They sold Eidos for nothing but keep making bad decisions.
