The EMEA League of Legends qualifiers for the Esports World Cup will conclude this weekend.
From the online qualifiers, two LEC teams will secure their spot at the $2 million international LoL tournament.
Though the region will then get a third slot given to the eventual winner of the LEC Spring Playoffs.
Here is how the bracket has shaken out to decide EMEA’s Esports World Cup representatives.
Esports World Cup Qualifier: Karmine Corp vs G2 Esports
The two Upper Bracket finalists have a big advantage as they’ll have two chances to advance from the qualifiers.
LoL esports fans are being treated to another high-pressure best-of-five between G2 and KCorp following the incredible LEC Versus Final earlier this year.
G2 won that incredible five-game series, and did again during their recent meeting during the LEC Roadtrip in Madrid.
G2 ended KCorp’s undefeated streak in Spring, as jungler Rudy ‘SkewMond’ Semaan outclassed KCorp’s Martin ‘Yike’ Sundelin.
KCorp only got two kills in the first match and in the second, threw away a slight gold lead as G2 expertly played the map.
Having gone undefeated against LCK teams at First Stand, G2 are Europe’s team to beat.
But this KCorp team has proven to be very lethal at their best and can absolutely match G2’s level.
Lower Bracket Semis: NAVI vs MKOI
Movistar KOI and Natus Vincere kept their EWC hopes alive after eliminating GIANTX and Galions, respectively.
NAVI and MKOI will now face off in a best-of-three to decide who will face the loser of KCorp and G2 in the second qualifier.
Judging by recent form, MKOI will be the favourites here, but both teams have shown just as many weaknesses as they have high points.
And when these teams actually met last, it was NAVI who came out on top, winning the messy series 2-1.
However, during that series, MKOI’s star mid laner Joseph Joon ‘Jojopyun’ Pyun solokilled Yoon ‘Poby’ Sung-won multiple times.
That mid lane match-up could be the deciding factor in this series, or perhaps it’ll be the consistency of MKOI’s other laners.
Either way, the eventual winner will have an uphill struggle in the following Qualifier match against either G2 or KCorp.
Though, it may not matter if one of the qualified teams wins the Spring Split, opening up another qualification slot.

And in a late twist to the event, the Esports World Cup is set to move to Paris following the ongoing conflict in Iran.
