The League of Legends EMEA Esports World Cup Qualifiers have almost concluded.
Three spots are available to the EMEA region, with the eventual LEC Spring Split winners and top two of the qualifiers advancing.
LFL and EMEA Masters runners-up Galions were the last remaining ERL team in the qualifier, but their Esports World Cup hopes are over.
The final four have now been decided, with G2 Esports, Karmine Corp, Movistar KOI, and Natus Vincere fighting for the qualifier’s two spots at the $2 million international LoL tournament.
NAVI End Galions’ Heroics
Galions had been on a fantastic run in the qualifiers, sweeping both SK Gaming and Shifters 2-0.
However, they couldn’t get past NAVI despite their best efforts, having forced the series to all three games.
The first match was all about individual errors from Galions.
Botlaner Franciszek ‘HARPOON’ Gryszkiewicz was having a great tournament, but tried to hard to force a 2v2 fight and ended up giving away first blood.
NAVI made a few individual outplays and then snowballed from there.
The series was somewhat personal as Galions jungler Francisco ‘Thayger’ Mazo Sánchez faced his former team and the jungler who not only replaced him, but was promised his LEC starting spot the same week Thayger joined.
Thayer at least got some joy in the second game as Galions stomped the match to tie the series.
By the 25-minute mark, Galions had Infernal Soul and a 6k gold lead, allowing them to deal ridiculous damage to delete NAVI off the map.
However, it was NAVI who came out on top in the end after Galions drafted Jayce top for rumoured Team Denmark toplaner Carl Ulsted ‘Carlsen’ Carlsen.
NAVI camped the top laner, killing him three times in the first six minutes and many more times after that.
Enes ‘Rhilech’ Uçan was very far ahead on his signature Aatrox jungle pick, and ended the series with a quadra kill — surprisingly, it was Carlsen of all people who denied the penta.
MKOI Stomp GIANTX
Meanwhile, MKOI dominated GIANTX in a very quick 2-0 series.
Midlaner Joseph Joon ‘Jojopyun’ Pyun returned to his inspired form with an early solokill on Yoon ‘Poby’ Sung-won.
Then MKOI managed to secure the first Drake and win the consequent team fight to immediately run away with their lead.
Javier ‘Elyoya’ Prades Batalla reminded everyone what a terrifying jungler he could be, relentlessly finding kills on the map.
By the 20-minute mark, Elyoya was over 3k gold up on his jungle opponent and the first game ended with GIANTX only finding two kills.
The second game was equally one-sided, with GIANTX never going ahead in gold.
Elyoya had another great game, but the star this time was David ‘Supa’ Martínez García who finished almost 12k gold up on his ADC opponent.

And now it seems the qualified EMEA teams won’t have far to travel as the Esports World Cup is set to relocate to Paris.
