The latest PlayStation 5 system update will adjust Child account settings, and “start or join a Discord voice chat directly from your PS5.”
Just today, PlayStation confirmed that direct Discord chat would finally come to the PlayStation 5. It will remove the need to manually transfer calls, so the update will be far more convenient.
The new system update page explains that “you can now start or join a Discord voice chat directly from your PS5.” Players can simply open Game Base in their control center, and use the Discord tab to “access your servers and direct calls.”
Surprisingly, the new system update will allow Child accounts to link to third-party services and apps, such as the anticipated Discord voice chat feature. That also includes “music streaming via Apple Music and Spotify, and broadcasting and sharing gameplay via YouTube and Twitch.”
Accordingly, the update also introduces more parental controls, which can manage Child account links to third-party additions.
The new PlayStation 5 system update will also improve various UI, stability, and software. That includes fixes for PULSE Elite devices, as well as “system software performance.”
Many fans are also looking forward to the PlayStation 5 Pro. Last March, Insider Gaming reported exclusive details on the system’s upcoming specs and compared it to the standard PlayStation 5 console.
PlayStation also recently announced Project Q, its next handheld device that uses remote play over WiFi.
