LA Thieves Just Broke The All-Time CDL Win Streak Record

LA Thieves just manhandled the Carolina Royal Ravens in the opening round of the Call of Duty League Major 4 tournament in Paris, France. It has been a stunning stage for the LA Thieves, with the team putting up a perfect record, a high map win ratio, and coming in white hot off both a Major and a Minor win in recent weeks.

It’s a sharp turnaround for the LA Thieves, which started the season in poorer form than anyone anticipated. The opening Major of the season yielded a sixth-place finish, while Major 2 produced a fourth-place finish. Now, the team is in pole position to win big at the Call of Duty League Championship after making history at Major 4.

LA Thieves Run Wild in Paris

The LA Thieves stormed the house at Major 3, defeating OpTic Texas in a tense grand final that went the entire way, right down to the wire. Then, mere weeks later, the team stumped up another win over OpTic during the Minor, all in preparation for running down a perfect streak ready for Major 4 in Paris.

LAT was the only team with a perfect record in the qualifying stage for the Paris Major, securing the top seed with ease and kicking off the Major with a clean 3-0 sweep over the Carolina Royal Ravens. Next up, LAT will take on FaZe Vegas, delivering one of the most anticipated match-ups of the Major.

There’s a lot of bad blood between these two organizations, and it’s always a blessing to see them play at LAN.

The win over Carolina was the 14th consecutive series win for LAT, which breaks the CDL record set by Atlanta FaZe years ago. The last time the LA Thieves lost a series was on May 16th, against FaZe Vegas. It was the loss that sparked something incredible in LAT, and the team went on to win five matches on the trot, coming up from the lower bracket of the Major to claim the trophy.

LAT has beaten FaZe three times since that loss, so tomorrow’s fixture might be all she wrote.

Unfortunately, the future isn’t looking much better for the Carolina Royal Ravens, as Polymarket’s users have the team at just a 39% chance of beating Miami Heretics today.

This streak has cemented LA Thieves (finally) as something of a super team, or at least a very lucky one. Do you see LA Thieves going all the way at COD Champs? Let us know on the Insider Gaming Discord server.
