The Knights of the Old Republic Remake seems like one of those projects that will forever be talked about but will never be released. It has been years since it was first teased and discussed, but up until now, we’ve seen nothing about the potential game.
In 2023, it was claimed that the project had died entirely, but earlier this year, Saber’s Chief Creative Officer insisted it’s still in development and chugging along quite nicely. Even more recently, concept art surfaced online showcasing one of the original game’s most iconic locations.
Concept Only
One fresh(ish) piece of concept art from the KOTOR Remake recently emerged online after reportedly being unearthed by MP1st. While the article neglects to provide a source link, it’s claimed that the image was taken from the personal site of a concept artist who worked at the studio developing the KOTOR Remake until 2021.
That’s about the same time that the project was unveiled.
In the concept art, we see one shot of Kashyyyk, the homeworld of the Wookie race:

It doesn’t show much, but ironically, it’s the best look we’ve had at the KOTOR Remake for a very long time. The kicker is that it comes from a developer no longer attached to the project, and it’s dated by at least four years, which might render it irrelevent for some.
For those not in the know, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was released way back in 2003 and is often considered one of the best games in the sci-fi franchise. Players are charged with creating and evolving a character and aligning them with the force while unlocking and upgrading various abilities.
The game has earned a Metascore of 94, making it one of the best-rated games ever.

This will get canceled. Who got the license Embracer or Saber? It’s confusing given their sale. Saber would be better working on other projects.
