One of the biggest compliments High on Life 2 deserves from everyone is its highly creative boss fights. Most aren’t your standard point-and-shoot affair; there’s a blend of strategy and madness involved. Senator Muppy Doo is one of High on Life 2’s first boss fights, and it’s a banger.
Unless you take the cruise ship route, the first proper boss you face after the tutorial is Senator Muppy Doo. He appears to be a normal, corrupt political figure, but it’s only once you lock horns with him that you realize there’s more sinister genius in his twisted brain.

Senator Muppy Doo Boss Phase 1, Explained
To be honest, the first part of the fight is the easy part, as it is just a mini-arena boss. There’s nothing too untoward about this stage, as you need to focus on killing the minions and cronies that Senator Muppy Doo dishes out, and keep tracking down the shapeshifting Senator.

The main thing for this phase is tracking his movements. Actually seeing him can be extremely difficult because he loves to shrink down into a miniature version of himself that would fit snug in a suit pocket. However, what you need to do is look for his mini-footsteps as they scurry around the room.
Also, we found it best to keep circling the edge of the boss room and scanning. It’s not a big area, so chances are you’ll see something moving. When you lock eyes with the Senator, start blasting and using your special abilities on him, and he’ll eventually be defeated.

Senator Muppy Doo Boss Phase 2, Explained
This is where High on Life 2 suddenly goes full Metal Gear Solid and channels its inner Hideo Kojima.

Because of how convoluted this can get, follow these general steps, which should help you flush out and beat Senator Muppy Doo:
- Wait for the Foreign Intruder Detected. Systems Menu Compromised message to appear on the screen.
- Pause the game.
- You should see your inner-companion tied up, and Senator Muppy Doo running away into the Inventory.
- Use your new character to hit the Inventory option.
- Now, look out for different menu and sub-menu words shaking every now and again, usually accompanied by a distinct audio cue.
- Hit whichever word moves, and in the new screen, you should see Senator Muppy Doo—keep attacking him.
- Once you do enough damage, he’ll run off again: Check to see if System, Items, or Shoes start shaking and press on them.
- Keep following the Senator and doing damage, and eventually, an error message appears.
- Here, he’ll be pushing against a sliding settings bar.
- Drag the bar away from him by decreasing it, and then increase it again to knock Muppy Doo away.
- Senator Muppy Doo will initiate a Factory Reset—hit Confirm.

- Pick anything and collect a couple of sheep, and eventually the mini-game ends.
- Finally, for the Donkey Kong mini-game, use Knifey to stab Senator Muppy Doo.
- Do this several times, and Muppy Doo is done for good!
