Karmine Corp are one step away from the League of Legends World Championship (LoL Worlds) Main Event after beating MVK Esports.
The LEC team breezed past their LCP opponents 3-0 in a much easier series than KCorp’s close five-game match with Cloud9 a day prior.
Now, Cloud9 are about to face FURIA, with the loser being the first team eliminated from LoL Worlds 2026.
MVK will then face the winner of that series to decide who will face KCorp in the Play-Ins final for a spot in the Swiss Stage.
KCorp Dominates MVK
Coming into the tournament, not much was expected from MVK – the youngest team at LoL Worlds 2026 with an average age of around 21 years.
And for Game 2 and Game 3 versus KC, MVK subbed out their oldest player for 19-year-old jungler Lê ‘SanSan’ Quốc Khánh, who hadn’t played competitively since May.
Yet, they exceeded all expectations with a brutally one-sided 3-0 stomp against CBLOL’s FURIA.
However, the team was then completely outclassed by KCorp despite a valiant effort. KC are now heavy favourites to advance from the Play-Ins.
Throughout the series, MVK appeared to have little interest in macro play, leaving the casters shocked after basic wave management was ignored on multiple occasions.
The commentators were then even more stunned as MVK still kept themselves in the game with impressive fights.
Against FURIA, MVK’s Võ ‘Chika’ Lê Nhân broke the record for the highest DPM by a midlaner at LoL Worlds with his Kog’Maw mid.
And the Kog’Maw almost paid off again as its huge poke forced KCorp off of Baron and allowed MVK to secure the objective bounty.
However, KC were still very far ahead and simply baited MVK to Elder Dragon only to backdoor and end the series.
