Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has come under fire in the days following its launch for its rough performance on PC. Despite the vast number of negative user reviews left on the game’s Steam page, it’s managed to earn a spot as the second-biggest Star Wars release on the platform.
A Twitter post from user @Morwull shows that the well-documented performance issues haven’t detracted players from picking up the game. As it stands, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has earned a concurrent peak player count of 63,597. That places it well ahead of the first game, Fallen Order, which has a peak player count of 46,550. While the peak player count for Jedi Survivor is impressive, it wasn’t enough to topple Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga which boasts a whopping 82,500 concurrent peak player count.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was hit with a wave of negative reviews on Steam almost immediately after launch which has significantly harmed its overall rating on the platform. The common complaints among players are the number of bugs and overall poor optimization. Content Creator @LegacyKillaHD played the game and reportedly came across “tons of issues” which included FPS drops, cutscenes glitching, and textures not loading properly.
The Star Wars Jedi team took to Twitter in light of the negative reviews to post a less than encouraging response saying: While there is no single comprehensive solution for PC performance, the team has been working on fixes we believe will improve performance across a spectrum of configurations. We are committed to fixing these issues as soon as possible but each patch requires significant testing to ensure we don’t introduce new problems”.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the latest AAA title to have a difficult launch on PC following the disastrous PC port of the Last of Us Part I earlier this year.
