It’s been a while since we’ve seen Sgt Frank Woods in Call of Duty, but a new comment left by Resetera user LightKiosk has revealed that James C Burns has been working at Deviation Games for at least five months.
You can see James C Burns at the 1:55 mark in the following video:
It’s currently unclear what role “Sarge” has at Deciation Games, but he said in April on his Call of Duty persona Twitter account that he’s “been busy working at another company” in “different capacities”. The Vimeo video does suggest though, that he’s likely in a higher-up position based on his involvement with the studio’s office build.
James C Burns has been credited for over 130 projects in the past, including two credits for writing in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and 4.
Deviation Games recently announced it lost its co-founder Jason Blundell, who left Treyarch Games to start the new studio. Insight into why Blundell left is unclear, but Deviation Games has said it will continue the development of its “groundbreaking AAA original IP”.
Deviation Games will continue to be led by CEO Dave Anthony, with Louise Castle joining the studio as Senior Vice President of Development. The studio had also announced that God of War veterans Jonathan Hawkins and Dean Rymer will be joining the studio, in addition to Call of Duty Black Ops’ Tony Flame.
