Warzone Mobile was revealed during the Call of Duty NEXT showcase in the middle of 2022. It blew fans’ minds everywhere, uncovering that they would once again have an opportunity to land in Verdansk in a battle royale setting. It’s highly anticipated, it’s a next-generation mobile game, and there’s one important question: is Warzone Mobile free to play?
When Is Warzone Mobile Coming Out?
Following early access phases and testing periods, it was widely believed that Warzone Mobile would be released on May 15th, 2023. However, that date came and went, and Warzone Mobile remained under wraps for most of the world.

So, Is Warzone Mobile Free To Play?
It would be bizarre if the ‘main version’ of Warzone was free to play and the mobile version wasn’t, right? That’s certainly true here – Warzone Mobile is absolutely free to play, but there will be microtransactions and battle passes mixed in – skin bundles, operators, and so on.
When it’s released, players will be able to head to the iOS Store or the Google Play Store, install Warzone Mobile for free, and then get stuck into the action. But what does that action include?
- 120-player battle royale lobbies
- Verdansk recreated in low-res glory for mobile devices
- Rebirth Island making a reappearance
- Multiplayer modes to test and level up weapons and equipment with ease
At the moment, we’re looking at November 1st for the game to release – and yes, as a final confirmation, Warzone Mobile is (and will be) free to play.
Warzone Mobile will be made available exclusively for mobile devices
