In a role-playing game that heavily focuses on party-based combat, like with its unique pawn system, one would think that Dragon’s Dogma 2 multiplayer would be an absolute hit. But does the game even offer a cooperative mode? Can you play Dragon’s Dogma 2 with friends?
Can You Play Dragon’s Dogma 2 Multiplayer?
Unfortunately, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is not multiplayer. It’s a single-player experience, built from the ground up for solo play, but with the pawn system to help you tackle encounters, complete quests, and explore the massive open world.
The first Dragon’s Dogma followed the same formula. The pawn system confused many, as you could download a pawn from another player and then use their character in your party. It made it appear that playing online was possible, but it’s not.
That said, the pawn system does make up for the lack of a cooperative experience, at least to many players. It’s an intuitive and competent AI system in which you can fully customize your pawns, provide them with gear, and learn their backstory through quests and exploration.

Will Multiplayer Come in Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC?
It’s absolutely likely that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will receive expansions and DLC in the future, especially considering the hype surrounding the single-player RPG. However, it’s unlikely that any additional content will offer multiplayer of any kind.
