Is Death Stranding The Next Epic Games Free Game?

You may want to be around on Christmas Day as Death Stranding might just be the next free game from Epic Games.

The keen-eyed Shiina on Twitter noticed that the teaser graphic on the Epic Games Store website features the same tag ring and tags from the game. As of now, nothing has been confirmed before the next game becomes available at 11am EST on Sunday. However, each game has been teased by the “wrapping paper” graphic used each day.

“There’s a high chance that Death Stranding will be available for free on the Epic Games Store tomorrow, as the teaser for tomorrow’s daily free game strongly hints at it,” Shiina posted.

If it turns out to be Death Stranding, it makes sense due to the game’s sequel recently being revealed at The Game Awards. By giving Death Stranding away for free, Epic Games helps rebuild the hype for the franchise ahead of Death Stranding 2’s eventual release. Whenever that is, of course.

In honor of the holiday season, Epic Games has been giving away a free game every day since December 15. Since the start of the event, some of the games given away include Fallout 1, Fallout 2, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and Metro Last Light Redux. The full list of games given away so far are:

  • December 15: Bloons TD 6
  • December 16: Horizon Chase Turbo
  • December 17: Costume Quest 2
  • December 18: Sable
  • December 19: Them’s Fightin’ Herds
  • December 20: Wolfenstein: The New Order
  • December 21: Lego Builder’s Journey
  • December 22: Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics
  • December 23: Encased
  • December 24: Metro Last Light Redux

The Epic Games free game even continues through December 29. Each game is available for just 24 hours.
