Battlestate Games’ Nikita Buyanov has once again teased the implementation of the AK-50 in Escape from Tarkov. This massively powerful weapon would be a one-shot kill for any armor, but it’s technically not a ‘real’ weapon. It’s the culmination of a decade of work by a YouTuber who builds firearms – The AK Guy, Brendan Herrera.
The rifle, a .50 BMG build based on the AK platform, could make an appearance in Escape from Tarkov if Nikita has his way, and it could land in the game as the title shapes up for its most challenging period yet.
‘Very Hardcore’
Nikita has showcased the fabled AK-50 in Escape from Tarkov before, but it has never been confirmed if it’s making its way into the popular extraction shooter. The team at Battlestate Games adores streamers and has bestowed a ‘streamer item’ upon many of the game’s top creators, so it’s easy to see how Herrera’s ‘AK-50’ could wind up in Tarkov.
I’m sure that adding AK-50 to a hardcore wipe will be very hardcore.
It’s a fearsome weapon that would turn the tide for any user, assuming it punches a clean hole through any armor to be found across Escape from Tarkov.
The ‘hardcore wipe’ that Nikita references is the upcoming global reset in Escape from Tarkov. When it happens, players will find themselves plunged into the most challenging period for Tarkov ever. The hardcore wipe will restrict traders, lock down maps, toughen up the AI, block the Flea Market, and more.
Die-hard Tarkov fans are looking forward to it, but there are many who are doubting the efficacy and enjoyment potential for such a wipe. Fortunately, it’s likely to only hit PvP players, as PvE players aren’t subjected to enforced wipes.
