INDUSTRIA 2 Devs Apologize As Game Launches to Awful Reviews: ‘We Got Work To Do’

Bleakmill has just released INDUSTRIA 2, the FPS follow-up to the 2021 title that introduced the mysterious, twisted universe. While the first game enjoyed decent reviews and a long tail, the sequel has been slammed with negativity right out of the gate.

The reviews on Steam paint a paltry picture for INDUSTRIA 2, which many have dubbed unfinished and broken. In a statement on social media, the developers at Bleakmill agreed that the feedback is fair, but they stressed that they’d put ‘all our hearts and souls’ into bringing INDUSTRIA 2 to life over the last four years.

INDUSTRIA 2 Falters From the Start

INDUSTRIA was a minuscule game when it dropped in 2021, emerging as an indie adventure that planted players firmly at the heart of a parallel Cold War-themed universe. It was a haunting shooter that secured fairly positive reviews, but it seems it’s not a case of INDUSTRIA walking so INDUSTRIA 2 could run.

On social media, the team at Bleakmill drew attention to the terrible reviews facing INDUSTRIA 2:

It hurts to be sitting at 48% positive ratings after putting all our hearts and souls into this game over 4 years. So much struggle, joy and difficulties our tiny team has overcome.

The critique is fair. Sorry to let you down everyone.

We got work to do. Only forward from here.

Bizarrely, the INDUSTRIA 2 demo has much more positive reviews than the full game, and it’s clear why from even the most cursory of glances at the game’s feedback.

The game-breaking bugs, placeholder assets, holes in the maps, audio blips, and many other problems have all weighed heavily on those investing money in the game, which has dropped with a price point of $22.49.

One of the most damning reviews came from a user who has accumulated 882 games on Steam, but only reviewed INDUSTRIA 2. They wrote:

I never leave reviews on games but Industria 2 is so disappointingly bad that I must warn others to steer clear of it. Saying this game feels rushed and unfinished is an understatement. If I could refund this game I would but fortunately for the devs I pressed past the 2 hour mark so my money is theirs now. Hopefully they can put that money to good use and fix the glaring issues with this game.

Fans of the first game have expressed their disappointment at waiting almost five years for this new product to surface, only to be overwhelmingly let down by what has surfaced.
