Immortals of Aveum to Launch July 20th, It’s Claimed

On Twitter, the ever-credible billbil-kun has claimed through an exclusive report that Electronic Arts’ Immortals of Aveum will be released on July 20th, 2023. There’s immediate speculation as to the legitimacy of this date, however, as aside from a teaser trailer shown at The Game Awards in 2022, almost nothing has been shown regarding the game.

Last year, the one-minute-long trailer offered up a glimpse into the project but didn’t show any gameplay, and since then, nothing more has been shared – officially, at least. It seems somewhat sketchy that the release date would be so close with so little content having been shown thus far, but we can live in hope, right?

‘Dead Space and Call of Duty’

On the Electronic Arts website, there’s a page sitting in place to advertise Immortals of Aveum, but it’s quite empty. There’s the one-minute-long trailer that was released during The Game Awards, as well as a snippet of information that explains how the game is being made by ‘the creators of Dead Space and Call of Duty.’

That’s a fact, as the CEO and Game Director at Ascendant, the EA-backed studio creating Immortals of Aveum, is none other than Bret Robbins, an individual with a prestigious record that has taken him through Visceral Games and Sledgehammer Games.

Here’s the trailer, just in case you need a refresher:

Unfortunately, billbil-kun’s Twitter post offered nothing else other than a release date, but it was a date claimed with conviction. It wasn’t a ‘is rumoured to be’ or a ‘might be’ – it was an ‘it will be released.’

Reportedly, Immortals of Aveum will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms on July 20th, 2023. If that’s a legitimate launch date, then in the very, very near future, we could see an official gameplay reveal.
