How to Unlock Warbond Medals in Helldivers 2

Players don’t like seeing a battle pass mechanic in a game, even if it only costs $39.99. It usually means the developer or publisher will milk the community dry through microtransactions. But at this time, Helldivers 2 genuinely offers one of the better implementations, as you can earn everything in-game without spending a dime besides the cost of the game itself. However, to unlock the unique rewards from the pass, you require Warbond Medals. Here’s how to earn those Medals to unlock items and cosmetics!

How to Earn Premium Warbonds in Helldivers 2

To earn Warbond Medals in Helldivers 2 without spending a single penny on in-game currency, complete operations via the Galactic War board. As you select your next mission, pay special attention to the rewards. You’ll note that some, like in the screenshot below, offer one or two Warbond Medals for successfully completing the objective.

You may then use this in-game currency to unlock various rewards via the free battle pass, such as weapons, emotes, and armor.

There are eight unlocks per tier, and you require a staggering total of 1,200 Warbond Medals to unlock the entire battle pass.

What to Spend Warbond Medals On First

You must unlock all eight items per tier to make it through the entire free battle pass in Helldivers 2. The thing is, not every item available is equal. Some, like the Super Credits, offer free premium currency you don’t have to spend a dime on. You can use Super Credits to purchase premium cosmetics in the game’s microtransaction store.

I recommend using your Warbond Medals to unlock Super Credits, first and foremost, and then start picking away at the rest. I would suggest starting with the weapons, as they’re most helpful in completing missions, and then the armor cosmetics before finally unlocking the various emotes and player cards. Don’t be like me and excitedly open a player card first and waste your Medals.
