How To Unlock Man-At-Arms In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced—New Naval Officer

There are three new Naval Officers to unlock in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, with each one offering a unique buff to the Jackdaw as you engage in open-sea warfare.

One of them is the Man-At-Arms, who goes by the name Padre. He provides an upgraded attack for the Jackdaw, but it’s not so obvious how you unlock him, as you need to meet a specific criterion to unearth his unique quest.

Thankfully, we’ve got it all figured out. Here’s how to unlock the Man-At-Arms Padre, one of the three new Naval Officers, in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

In order to unlock the Jackdaw’s Man-At-Arms, you must first complete the Officer Quest: A Second Chance.

However, that quest won’t be available until you’ve completed Sequence 04: This Old Cove, which is a pivotal moment for the campaign. That said, once you’ve finished that quest, you’ll see on your map a new Officer Quest available, which you can easily track in your Quest Log.

Without spoiling anything, the quest is relatively quick and easy to complete. You’ll meet Padre, and after a few stops along the way, including a few coming togethers of swords, he’ll eventually join the Jackdaw as your new Man-At-Arms, and you’ll receive a mighty fine upgrade as a reward.

Once you’ve unlocked the Man-At-Arms as an Officer for the Jackdaw, you’ll be rewarded with a new ability, called the Ram-Dash.

When in use, the Jackdaw will surge forwards at greater speeds, and it’s a great means to close down distances between you and enemy ships. Partner that with upgraded Ram damage, and you’ll be cutting through ships like they’re made out of butter.

That said, the ability does have a cooldown, so you can’t spend entire fights speeding across the ocean. Thankfully, the cooldown can be reduced by dealing damage to enemy ships with other naval weaponry, such as your Broadside Cannons or Fire Barrels.

He’s a worthwhile addition to the crew and a great boon for the Jackdaw. For more thoughts on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, check out our review below:
