After years of waiting, Hytale is finally here. If you’re just getting started in the brand new survival-sandbox game, you’re going to need a lot of different resources, with an essential being Copper.
Copper is found as an Ore, but you’ll need the Ingots to craft new and improved items. If you’re new to the game, the process might be a bit confusing, but Insider Gaming has it all figured out.
Here’s where you can find Copper Ore in Hytale, as well as how you can smelt it down into the ever-valuable Ingots.
Best Location To Find Copper Ore In Hytale
Like most resources, there isn’t a singular spot to best find Copper Ore in Hytale. Instead, you’ll want to head underground and explore caves, where you’ll find the Ore in abundance.
Copper is one of the many Ores found in Hytale, but it’s one of the earliest you’ll want to look for. It’s easy enough to spot, with the orange rocks poking out of the block.
Of course, to mine the resource, you’re going to need a Pickaxe. Luckily, it’s one of the earliest items you can craft, and it’s fairly simple to do so. All you need is the following:
- 2x Any Rubble
- 2x Plant Fiber
- 2x Sticks
Once you’ve assembled the items required, a Crude Pickaxe can be crafted in your inventory. Now you’re ready to harvest some Copper Ore, but how do you turn it into Ingots?
How To Craft Copper Ingots In Hytale
To craft Copper Ingots, you’ll need to smelt the Copper Ore in a Furnace.
A Furnace is one of the first workstations you’ll need to craft in Hytale, but before you can do that, you’ll need to make a Workbench. All it requires is the following:
- 4x Any Tree Truck
- 3x Any Stone
Place it down anywhere you like, and interact with it. You’ll see a bunch of craftable items, but what you’ll want to smelt down your Copper Ore is the Furnace. To craft one, you’ll need:
- 6x Any Tree Trunk
- 6x Any Stone
Once you’ve placed down your Furnace, you’re practically ready to smelt your Copper, but you’ll need to make sure you have some Fuel. For now, any Logs will work wonders; place them in the Fuel slot, and drop your Copper Ore into the Input section.
And voila! Your Copper Ore should start smelting down into Ingots, with each Ore producing one Ingot. It takes some time for these to smelt, but once they’re done, you should have a nice collection of Copper Ingots to start crafting into new gear.
To sum up, here’s a step-by-step guide for how you can craft Copper Ingots in Hytale:
- Collect Copper Ore from underground.
- Craft a Workbench.
- Use your Workbench to craft a Furnace.

When you get your first batch of Copper Ingots, the best usage for them is probably to upgrade your tools and weapons. Each one will require a varying amount of Ingots, but they’ll do hit harder, mine faster and have more durability.
Aside from that, Copper Ingots will also be required in upgrading some workstations, such as the aforementioned Furnace. You’ll need more than just the Copper Ingots, but it’s a handy resource that you’ll likely need a lot of, especially early in the game.
