While hundreds of Pokémon are available to encounter in Pokémon Go, the full slew of over 1,000 are not all available, and fan-favourite Mimikyu has been kept behind closed doors, until now.

How to Catch Mimikyu in Pokémon Go
Mimikyu is available to catch in Pokémon Go on April Fool’s Day 2026, from 12 am to 11:59 pm local time worldwide.
The fan-favourite Pokémon is available throughout the day, although the reliable Silph Road has confirmed that Mimikyu will have a higher spawn rate between 6 pm and 7 pm local time.

The increased spawn rates come alongside Pikachu’s Spotlight Hour, with Mimikyu staying true to form with its attempts to steal the spotlight from the iconic Pokémon mascot.
Few details about Mimikyu’s availability beyond April 1 are known, however, and it seems likely it will only remain available in special events, at least initially.
However, there is another way to obtain the Disguise Pokémon, though there are still some time-limited restrictions surrounding the Pokémon.
Can You Catch Mimikyu After April 1 in Pokémon Go?
Yes, Mimikyu is available to catch after April Fool’s Day in Pokémon Go, although only for a limited time.
By reaching Rank 30 in the A Shocking Good Time Go Pass, an encounter with Mimikyu is unlocked, providing an extra opportunity to obtain the Pokémon.

The Rank must be reached by Monday, April 6, at 8 pm local time to obtain the reward; however, as the pass expires at that time. If you haven’t reached the Rank by this stage, unfortunately, you will miss out.
Mimikyu is certain to reappear in Pokémon Go in the future, though the exact details of the re-appearance are not known for now, and it could be a while until another appearance from the Pokémon.
