It’s a big year for Pokémon fans with the 30th anniversary of the franchise, and another new title is on the horizon in the form of Pokémon Champions.
Fresh off the back of Pokopia‘s widely successful release, alongside the re-release of Fire Red and Leaf Green, Pokémon is pushing hard in 2026, and Pokémon Champions is set to result in a sweep of changes in the competitive scene.
If you’re interested in the release of Pokémon Champions and want to know what platforms the game is available on, Insider Gaming has all the details.
Is Pokémon Champions on Nintendo Switch?

Yes, Pokémon Champions is available on both generations of the Nintendo Switch console, so those yet to upgrade to a Nintendo Switch 2 will not miss out.
While Nintendo is fully shifting into the Switch 2 era, putting the likes of Pokopia as a next-gen exclusive title, support for the original consoles has not ended completely, and a select few releases will be available on both generations.

Pokémon Champions is among those available on both eras of the console, and cross-generation play means you can face off against someone on a Nintendo Switch 2, regardless of which console you own, and vice versa.
For those on Nintendo Switch 2, an update will be available for Pokémon Champions, rather than a standalone version, providing enhanced visual performance. The update will be free.
Is Pokémon Champions on Mobile?
