Techland Confirms How You Can Get Dying Light: The Beast For Free

Techland has been on a whirlwind marketing tour of late, promoting Dying Light: The Beast to no end after revealing the game’s release date during the Summer Game Fest showcase. Dying Light: The Beast is coming August 22, and many fans are curious if they can get access to the game if they bought Dying Light 2: Stay Human.

Originally, Dying Light: The Beast was set to be an expansion for Dying Light 2, which has prompted many to wonder if they’re getting it for free if they have the best edition of the 2022 game.

Techland has kindly cleared up how you get Dying Light: The Beast for free on August 22.

Will I Get Dying Light: The Beast For Free?

If you’ve been asking that question, I’ve got news that might sound quite good to you, depending on your circumstances.

In a post on social media, Techland confirmed how you can get The Beast for free when it’s released on August 22.

If you bought the base version of Dying Light 2: Stay Human and upgraded to Ultimate later, you will still get Dying Light: The Beast at no additional cost. The game will automatically appear in your games library on the platform you bought Dying Light 2: Stay Human on.

Additionally, if you bought Dying Light 2: Stay Human’s Ultimate edition, you’ll automatically qualify for a free copy of Dying Light: The Beast in August.

When Techland revealed Dying Light: The Beast, the Ultimate version of Dying Light 2 was removed from sale. It’s no longer possible to buy that edition, but purchasing it would have cost you as much as it would to just buy Dying Light: The Beast outright.

When it hits the market, Dying Light: The Beast will cost around $59.99.

If you want to upgrade further and unlock the Deluxe Edition of Dying Light: The Beast with all added content, you’ll need to wait until the game has launched, due to what Techland has branded ‘technical issues’.
