With news of mass layoffs across the gaming industry this week, many games have also been caught up in the crossfire. Games like Respawn’s first-person shooter Mandalorian game and PlayStation’s live service Twisted Metal game were two of the biggest canceled titles. One game, however, that wasn’t canceled at PlayStation was the Horizon multiplayer game at Guerrilla Games.
In a simple one-word reply to a reader asking about whether the game was shelved, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier said “No”.
The Horizon multiplayer game was first announced as in development back in 2022. Since then, though, there hasn’t been much in the way of updates about what the game will offer. The only thing really known is that it will be a spin-off of the story of the first two games, and use various systems players have come to know from the series.
There’s been no word about when the multiplayer game will be coming or if that will even be the next game released in the series. PlayStation is set to release Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition on PC and PlayStation 5 on March 21, which includes both the base game and the Burning Shores DLC.
