Hood Warfare 2 is the Viral $5 Call of Duty Clone

You might have caught wind of a new FPS game that looks and plays like Call of Duty, but it is absolutely not CoD. The viral shooter is doing the rounds on social media, featuring gangs fighting over Chicago, and that game is Hood Warfare 2—and it’s currently five dollars.

Five dollars gets you a milkshake in Pulp Fiction; in 2026, you can grab Hood Warfare 2. Yes, despite the original Hood Warfare’s all-time peak of just 68 players on Steam, a second game has been released. Needless to say, through the power of social media, it’s gaining a little more traction.

For about five dollars, you can grab Hood Warfare 2 right now, which was released on October 8. It started out quite similarly to the first game in terms of player count, but it’s recently seen a surge of a few thousand players.

It currently has a peak of 4,491 players, and this number is likely to rise as word of mouth spreads.

Interestingly, one buyer who has reviewed the game (which currently has 74% of its 346 reviews being positive) said that Hood Warfare 2 is “basically just low-budget Call of Duty,” but also went on to say that it has horrible spawn camping.

Other comments have also alluded to the fact that it’s fun at first, but quickly gets old. There are also some obvious troll reviews to push the rating up.

Here’s the official game’s description:

‘Rival gangs fight for control of Chicago. Pick a side, customize your weapons, and fight other players across a variety of action-packed game modes. Spin the block and take over the streets in this chaotic multiplayer FPS.

Hood Warfare 2 brings back the chaotic FPS gameplay and humor of the original, now built in Unreal Engine 5 with updated visuals, new weapon animations, and a new set of maps. Fight through downtown, the suburbs, The Trenches, and Chicago Mall. Hold down the streets or take the fight indoors, with different routes and positions to learn on each map.

Weapon customization gets an upgrade, too. Change out sights, magazines, grips, suppressors, and other attachments to get your gun how you want it. Set up your loadout with perks and equipment before heading into a match.’
