First spotted by Twitter user @Knoebelbroet, it appears that High on Life could be coming to PlayStation in the very near future.
Added just 1 day ago, the update was spotted on orbispatches.com, which tracks updates relating to the PlayStation 4. The update doesn’t reveal much in the way of when the game could launch on the platform, but according to the update it was for “General bug fixes and improvements”, which could suggest the game is gearing up to launch soon.
High on Life launched on December 13, 2022 on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Critically, the game had seen mixed reviews with some outlets giving it scores in the 7s or 8s while others have panned it. It appears to be one of the more divisive titles to come in some time. On Metacritic, the High on Life currently has a Metascore of 67 though user scores appear to be far more favorable at 7.8.
Created by Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, High on Life is a first-person shooter where players are given tasks to assassinate various targets using different living guns. These guns not only talk to the player but react to actions the player takes during the game.
The game was the most-played title on Xbox Game Pass during the week of its release and was the fourth most-played title on the Xbox platform overall. Xbox Vice President of Marketing Aaron Greenberg said the game was a “breakout hit”
A paid expansion, titled High on Knife, was announced in June 2023. It will feature the voices of Cusack, Alec Robbins, Sarah Sherman, and Gabourey Sidibe.
