In ten days, Helldivers 2 has established itself as a remarkably popular game, releasing on both PlayStation 5 and PC and storming to success across both platforms. It’s currently sitting in fourth place on Steam’s list of most-played games, boasting an all-time peak concurrency of around 330,000 users. That means it has beaten out the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3, Destiny 2, Starfield, and Halo Infinite.
Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of Arrowhead Game Studios, the sci-fi epic is still being plagued with server issues.
Diving Through Hell
It’s a common sight for those playing Helldivers 2 to see an error code flash up on the screen as server and network instability dashes their playthrough to pieces. It’s a sad fact, but more than ten days after the game was released, it’s still suffering at the hands of these issues.
But that’s not to say that Arrowhead Game Studios is doing nothing about it.
In a recent post, Arrowhead stressed:
Despite our best efforts to increase server capacity to accommodate all of you who want to dive for Freedom, we are experiencing capacity issues. We are once more working without delay to improve the issue and we hope to have a fix in place as soon as possible. Thank you.
Arrowhead is suffering from its success, as hundreds of thousands of people pour into Helldivers 2 to soak up the high-octane, explosive action within. Online, the discourse around Helldivers 2 remains strong, with thousands of users reporting nothing but positive feedback about the game.
At the time of writing, Helldivers 2 is outpacing the likes of Escape from Tarkov, Dota 2, and Skull and Bones on Twitch – which is brilliant considering it’s 7 AM on a Sunday.
