Recently, it was revealed that Ubisoft has partnered with OWO to create an intelligent and advanced haptic suit for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It’s a remarkable piece of technology that will allow users to feel every blade plunged into Basim as they explore Baghdad in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is releasing on October 12th, 2023.
This haptic suit, which features a ‘patented OWO skin’ made up of gel pads and feedback devices, uses a series of electrodes to trigger sensations that the user ‘would have never felt before’. As the report goes, elements in the game such as parkour and combat will trigger feedback in the haptic suit, allowing users to get a taste of what Basim is feeling.
Is It Worth The Price?
It’s a neat invention for sure, but the OWO haptic suit will set users back a whopping €500. It’s themed around Assassin’s Creed Mirage – as you might expect – and it has been created in a collaboration between Ubisoft and OWO.
In a breakdown on the OWO site, the list of sensations that a user will feel while wearing this haptic suit was made transparent, with some of them sounding a little… Freaky.
There was a diverse array of sensations – but only certain ones will apply to Assassin’s Creed Mirage, such as:
- Free Fall
- Dart
- Axe
- Dagger
- Punch
- Severe Abdominal Wound
- Chest Dagger Wound
Outside of that, there are plenty of sensations that I’d love to try out – as at face value, they don’t make much sense:
- Stress
- ‘Strange Sensation’
- Fast Driving
- Push Heavy Object
I’m not sure how a haptic suit could simulate the sensation of pushing something heavy, but that’s the technology, I suppose.
According to its site, OWO also offers suit integrations with the likes of CSGO, PUBG, VALORANT, Fortnite, World of Tanks, The Forest, Among Us, and Apex Legends.
