The punchy track perfectly matched the visuals and pacing of the trailer, and it came as no surprise that it became a smash hit on platforms more than thirty years after it debuted.
The latest trailer for GTA 6 has done it again with ‘Hot Together’ by The Pointer Sisters.

Rockstar Games recently confirmed that the GTA 6 trailer published this week has managed to secure half a billion views. It has monumentally surpassed the first trailer, and it shows no signs of slowing down.
An exclusive report published by The Hollywood Reporter has also confirmed (via Spotify) that streams of Hot Together by The Pointer Sisters have leapt up by 182,000% since the trailer debuted.
This is the cultural knock-on impact that Grand Theft Auto 6 can have. It’s such a prolific franchise that anything it touches turns to gold, and that naturally includes the tracks used in trailers.

The song doesn’t start playing until an entire minute of the trailer has passed, which is in stark contrast to the first trailer. In GTA 6 Trailer 1, which was released in December 2023, Tom Petty’s track came in as the first few seconds unfolded.
