When is The Grounded 2 Review Embargo Date?

A return to the garden beckons in Grounded 2, with new bugs to fight and locations to explore, and the review embargo date for the title has been revealed.

Following the release of the original game in 2020, with a PlayStation 5 version launched last year, Obsidian is back with a sequel, releasing July 30 in game preview status, and it’s set to join the Xbox Game Pass catalogue day one.

The reveal trailer was shown at Summer Games Fest, and we don’t have to wait too long to get a look at the initial reviews for the title. Here are all the details for the Grounded 2 review embargo.

The official Grounded 2 review embargo ends on July 29 at 6 am PT/8 am CT/9 am ET/2 pm BST/11 pm AEST.

We’ve highlighted the main timezone regions for you to track, with the reveal of the dates coming from several sources who were supplied with early access to Grounded 2 ahead of the launch of the game preview.

@ColtEastwood said: “Thanks to Obsidian and Xbox for Review Access to Grounded 2, I can’t wait to share with you all Tuesday, July 29th at 6:00am PT / 9:00am ET.”

Additionally, @CMoney4Ever confirmed the same time and date, further adding credibility.

The review embargo comes the day before Grounded 2 releases in Game Preview status, which is pretty standard for when reviews are allowed to be published, and will give players a first look into what to expect from the title before the release.

What Grounded 2 Review Scores Can we Expect?

The original Grounded scored highly on Metacritic, with an average of 83, and Grounded 2 should land at around that mark. However, it may initially fall below it.

That’s because Grounded 2 will very much remain a work in progress until a full release, which comes at an unspecified date, with player feedback guiding development. As such, there could be some things to iron out before it’s smooth sailing.

Game Preview is essentially a lengthy beta period for the game, and will not represent the full final product as a result. Therefore, even if Grounded 2 does score lower than expected, there are plenty of chances for the title to improve during development.

There should be enough to make a positive impression, however, with improvements to the first game including the ability to recruit more bugs to join your arsenal and assist with tasks.
