MADFINGER Games has revealed that Gray Zone Warfare’s 0.4 update will be released globally on March 31. This is the super-sized upgrade that introduces stacks of new content to the game and implements an overhaul that feels enough to almost call it Gray Zone Warfare 2.0.
The update, which will be free for all users, will land with Support Edition owners from March 27th, rewarding them for their investment in this open-world tactical shooter.
Gray Zone Warfare 0.4 Update is Nuts
The sheer scope and scale of Gray Zone Warfare’s 0.4 update is dizzying. From what we’ve seen in developer posts and videos, the upgrade will introduce new tasks, locations, weapons, ways to play, and ways to work with other users.
In a string of enhancements, the game’s textures, lighting, ambient sounds, movement mechanics, and combat features have all been boosted, and everything from the map to the game’s onboarding features has been overhauled. It’s quite simply a mind-blowing update that’s bursting at the seams with content and new assets.
If you’ve been waiting for a reason to jump into Gray Zone Warfare (or back into…), then this might just be it.
The final developer video went live recently, talking through the upgraded task system, the new tactical map, the reputation levels with vendors and progression paths, the new lore and backstory aspects, and the enhanced loot pool and 500 new items coming to the game with 0.4.
It has been a long time coming, of course. The 0.3 update for Gray Zone Warfare was released almost a year ago, introducing ‘Winds of War’. That dropped after the Night Ops update that was added in November 2024.
It’s safe to say that, from the scale alone, the 0.4 update, named ‘Spearhead’, blows them out of the water.
