Gentle Mates has confirmed the long-awaited signings of Rocket League superstars Axel ‘Vatira’ Touret, Alexis ‘zen’ Bernier, and Tristan ‘Atow’ Soyez to the French organization.
With Gentle Mates’ Rocket League Club Championship partnership confirmed for 2027, the trio will play the RLCS split based in Europe, starting with December’s RLCS Club Championship 2027 Kick-Off event.
Gentle Mates secure Rocket League ‘Superteam’
Gentle Mates have finally confirmed the signings of Vatira, Atow, and zen following months of speculation after rumors emerged that the trio wished to play together for the 2027 season.
Kamel ‘Kameto’ Kebir had previously shared on stream that the trio had held negotiations with Vitality, Karmine Corp, and Gentle Mates. The KC co-founder went on to claim that the offer was significantly larger from Gentle Mates, something which Vatira and Atow’s agent denied.
Instead, the Prodigy SEG CEO Jérôme Coupez claimed that Vatira and Atow had moved away from Karmine Corp due to considerations over unpaid wages.
The KC pair now joins former Team Vitality player zen, who had been for so long the star of the Vitality roster, winning the RLCS 2022-23 World Championship with the organization.
Prior to joining Gentle Mates, zen and Atow were already a well-established duo in Rocket League’s 2v2 format, with their consistent synergy and individual ability shining throughout their collaborations.
The pair won the RLCS 2026 2v2 World Championship together in September by defeating Team Falcons’ brotherly duo of Saleh Abdullah ‘Rw9’ Bakhashwin and Yazeed Abdullah ‘Kiileerrz’ Bakhashwin 4-3 in the Grand Final.
With connections throughout the roster, the team is expected to become a dominant force in Rocket League, and anything short of that would be a huge disappointment for the roster that has already been described as a ‘Superteam.’
At 20 years old, Vatira already holds the record for the most Majors in Rocket League history. Alongside zen and Atow, the expectation will be for the Frenchman to extend that record and finally secure his first World Championship title.
The French and Belgian roster will begin their competitive year on December 9-13 as they compete at RLCS Club Championship 2027 Kick-Off.
