If you’re a fan of Blizzard’s Hearthstone and want to unlock some free card packs tied to the latest Escape from Violet Hold expansion this weekend, you can do so very easily. Blizzard is offering players a chance to get some free cards over the next couple of days, simply for interacting with a high-stakes esports tournament.
Escape from Violet Hold has been around since July 7, and when it dropped, it introduced a whopping 145 new collectible cards. You can secure some of these cards for free with some all-new Twitch Drops.
Here’s how.
Hearthstone Twitch Drops Unlock Free Card Packs
This weekend, the Hearthstone Summer Championship will play out, boasting a $50,000 prize pool and unlocking qualification to the Masters Tour World Championship, set to hit BlizzCon later this year.
It’s not just the competitors who stand to gain something from the tournament, though. If you’re a Hearthstone fan, you can tune into the action on Twitch and unlock up to three Escape from Violet Hold packs while you watch the tournament.
You can also participate in the Choose Your Champion promotion to earn another free card pack.
But how do you get the free Escape from Violet Hold card packs?
From July 31 to August 2, you’ll need to watch the Hearthstone tournament on Twitch. The easiest way to do this is to head to Blizzard’s official Hearthstone channel. Once you’re on Twitch, you’ll need to link your Battle.net account with your Twitch profile in the ‘Connected Accounts’ section of the options tab.
That’s about it for the admin side of things; now it just requires you to watch the tournament.
You’ll get one card pack for each day of the tournament, and you need to watch at least one hour to qualify.
