Fortnite’s Mud System Might Return Next Season, It’s Claimed

A new leak reveals that Fortnite’s Mud System might be returning with Chapter 6 Season 4.

One of the most popular gameplay features from Fortnite’s Chapter 4, Season 3 ‘Wilds’, may be included in the upcoming season: Mud. Players who remember that season will recall that mud was spread throughout the map, allowing them to gain speed while sliding and providing a means of camouflage from enemies. Hopefully, more innovation will be added to this gameplay system.

The information about the mud system returning to Fortnite comes from Loolo_WRLD on X, corroborated by popular Fortnite leaks source HYPEX. Their post states that the next season will include Boons related to mud and cloaking (invisibility), which makes them believe that the mud system is returning.

Fortnite’s Mud and Cloaking systems bring a layer of stealth that has disappeared from the game lately. Hopefully, with its return, we will also see the return of thermal weapons and items to spot players who are hiding their presence. Moreover, most players will also appreciate an extra mobility boost. We will have to see how it fits with the entire theme of the next season.

Fortnite Might Release a Third Wave of Jujutsu Kaisen Cosmetics

HYPEX also provided players with a cosmetic leak for this season. It appears that Wave 3 for JJK cosmetics will be arriving soon, along with some mythics in Creative. Wave 3 will reportedly feature three cel-shaded collaboration skins. There’s also a chance that we might receive JJK x Fortnite Blitz Week in August.

In other news, Fantastic Four is coming to Fortnite this week. Also, the developers are testing a 6-player squad mode for the game. What are your thoughts on the mud system returning to Fortnite? Let us know through the official Insider Gaming forums discussion.
