Fortnite Sprites Look Set to Stay Next Season

An influx of leaks ahead of the new Fortnite season continues to emerge, one of which indicates that Sprites are set to stay beyond the current season.

Sprites were a popular addition to Fortnite this season, returning with a new approach geared towards collecting them all and encountering rare variants, which has proven to be a popular pastime for players.

It has been unclear what would happen to the mechanic at the end of the current season, which is set for mid-August, but a new leak seems to have provided the answer.

Sprites to Remain in Fortnite

According to Blortzen via Looloo_Wrld, Sprites will remain in Fortnite for Chapter 7 Season 4, but it’s not clear how exactly the format will be altered, if at all.

New Sprites have regularly been added to Fortnite this season, often coming alongside significant collabs, including Batman and John Wick.

Those themed Sprites would likely be taken out of rotation next season, but it’s still unclear whether the Sprite collection would remain as is, showcasing all the Sprites from this season, or whether the collection would be tweaked for the new season.

If it is tweaked, would it mean players have to collect any remaining Sprites again, or would it continue progress from the current season, excluding any removed Sprites from the feature?

More details should emerge in the coming weeks as Epic Games counts down to the new Fortnite season, which is set to be the penultimate one of the Chapter.

The gaming legends-themed season is expected to be followed by a mini season to end the chapter, in a similar vein to the huge collab with The Simpsons featured last year.

Fortnite Chapter 8 is expected to kick off in late November, concluding a one-month mini-season, but there’s still a long way to go until that point is reached.
