New content continues to land in Fortnite, and the server downtime on June 6 brings about the biggest changes to the Epic Games title in recent months.
A new season is calling in Fortnite, fresh off the back of another titanic live event, and there’s plenty to look forward to in the months ahead following the seasonal transition.
Of course, players need to wait for the servers to return to jump in, and Insider Gaming has all you need to know about the downtime.
When Will Fortnite Servers Be Back Up?
Fortnite servers are down for several hours for the June 6 update, although the exact time of their return has not been confirmed by Epic Games.
Downtime commenced immediately after the live event at 7:30 PM ET and is set to continue until around 1 AM ET, as revealed by a countdown timer in-game.
This is a shift from the usual approach for Fortnite updates, where downtime usually begins in the early hours of the morning, and there’s an exact time to wait, though, for those in the US, it’s set to be a late night waiting for the return.
As long as everything goes to plan, downtime will last five hours. However, there were server issues with the live event, affecting thousands of players, and there’s always a risk of further issues emerging that delay the return of the servers.
What’s In The Fortnite June 6 Update?
The June 6 update in Fortnite marks the start of Chapter 7 Season 3, emerging after the huge live event that brought an end to the battle between the Ice King and the Foundation.
Fortnite’s v41.00 update brings the standard rotation for the season, including a new Battle Pass, the return of Sprites, changes to the loot pool, and new mechanics.
A tropical POI is replacing Dark Dominion, while this season also sees the return of Dr Slone. Players can also expect the NPCs available on the map to rotate, and Epic Games will also have surprises in store.
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 is set to be the stage for a few months, but we’ll still get the usual mid-season updates to freshen things up.
