FiveM and RedM Are Officially Part of Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games has announced that Cfx.re has become a part of the Rockstar ecosystem, officially bringing two of the biggest roleplaying communities in the business into the fold. For years, the FiveM community has held the ongoing success of Grand Theft Auto V on its shoulders, and it’s part of the reason why GTA V still dominates streaming and content creation platforms today.

RedM isn’t as popular, but it’s still managing to keep a strong portion of the Red Dead Online community engaged – especially given the ongoing issue with the delivery of content to the platform.

Will GTA 6 Have RP From The Start?

This type of partnership is rarely seen in the world of gaming – particularly where AAA titles are concerned. But this alignment between Rockstar Games and Cfx.re could have implications on the future of the Grand Theft Auto franchise. For instance, we could see roleplaying mechanics written into GTA 6 from the very beginning.

In a post on the Rockstar Games newswire, it was said:

Over the past few years, we’ve watched with excitement as Rockstar’s creative community have found new ways to expand the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, particularly through the creation of dedicated roleplay servers. As a way to further support those efforts, we recently expanded our policy on mods to officially include those made by the roleplay creative community.

It’s a monumental moment for Cfx.re, which has worked hard to support the roleplaying community for years. FiveM has been such a success that it has attracted the attention time and again of some of the biggest content creators in the world – most notably xQc, who spent months neck-deep in GTA RP, predominately on the FiveM servers.

In a statement posted on the Cfx.re forum, it was expressly stated:

For those curious about what else Rockstar is working on, please understand that our partnership with Rockstar Games is focused on our FiveM and RedM platforms. So please, do not ask us about the next GTA!

Let’s be honest… They’re probably going to do something with the next GTA.
