Gematsu on Twitter has discovered that Final Fantasy 16 has been rated in Brazil, suggesting that more about the game will be revealed in the near future.
The game has been rated “not recommended for children under 16”.
As exclusively reported by Insider Gaming last week, it was reported that the game will have pre-orders set to go live on December 7th or December 8th.
The dates imply that the announcement is likely to be made at The Game Awards on December 8, unless Square Enix or Sony has other plans for the announcement with their own event.
Insider Gaming understands that the game will be available for pre-order with a brand-new trailer launching alongside it. The rating doesn’t necessarily suggest the game will release soon, but the ratings are likely for the new trailer that is expected to be shown.
From the rating report, it was said:
“Extenuating circumstances: sex scenes not fully showed, violent content attenuated by scenes’ direction.”
“Aggravating circumstances: violence with weapons, blood, intentional deaths, torture, and victims suffering. Drugs, prostitution, and sexual content are both shown and talked about. Hate crimes.”
Final Fantasy XVI is the sixteenth game in the mainline Final Fantasy series and is scheduled to be released in mid-2023. With pre-orders going live soon, it does suggest that a more precise release date will be given.
The game is set in the land of Valisthea, a continent with six factions on the verge of conflict due to a spreading malady called the Blight. Final Fantasy XVI is being produced by Naoki Yoshida and with Hiroshi Takai as the main director and Kazutoyo Maehiro as the creative director and writer.
Final Fantasy XVI is scheduled to release in mid-2023 for PlayStation. It will be a timed exclusive for six months, before being eligible for release on other platforms.
