Park ‘FenRir’ Kang-jun took an unexpected place in KT Rolster’s LCK Regular Season squad after “internal conflict” saw Kim ‘Aiming’ Ha-ram removed from KT’s active League of Legends roster.
The 20-year-old LCK Challengers player was thrown into the deep end, starting in KT’s ‘Telecom Wars’ contest against T1 as the LCK Regular Season resumed in Seoul.
KT Rolster went on to win the contest 2-0 in the opening Legends Group match of LCK Rounds 3-4, compounding recent T1 struggles that have seen the three-times back-to-back Worlds winners play disorganized League.
FenRir promoted to main roster amid Aiming conflict
The 20-year-old has been playing in the Bot Lane for KT Rolster during their KeSPA Cup 2026 campaign, but was expected to step aside for the resumption of the LCK Regular Season.
The KeSPA Cup has often been used as a bedding-in ground for LCK Challenger players into the main roster, allowing Tier 1 and Tier 2 players to build synergy and acclimatize.
However, the intention was not to immediately promote FenRir after an eighth-place elimination in the KeSPA Cup, which saw the roster exit the competition in the first round of the Last Chance Qualifier play-ins.
Instead, the org has been clear that the call-up was due to the internal conflicts in the roster, sharing the following statement on social media:
“We would like to explain the background behind the call-up of FenRir. During practice, there was an internal conflict within the roster. As this had a negative impact on our team synergy, we made a team decision to make a roster change at the ADC position.
“kt Rolster will do our absolute best until the end of this season, so we ask for your continued support.”
Ghost moves to ADC, but FenRir preferred for LCK
The news closely followed the announcement that former starting Support on the KT Rolster roster, Jang ‘Ghost’ Yong-jun, was switching to the ADC role.
The news that Ghost was moving to ADC caused many members of the KT fandom to believe that Ghost would take the starting spot over Aiming, however, the role swap seems focused on the KT Rolster Academy roster rather than the senior team, with Aiming playing against Dplus Challengers in KT Rolster Academy’s recent loss in LCK Challengers.
In promoting FenRir, the organization has clearly decided that the step up from LCK Challengers is less dramatic than Ghost switching roles despite having more Tier 1 experience.
