Fallout Fans Can Get Lucy’s Backpack… For £200

Fallout’s frenzy continues to persist following the recent success of the Amazon-backed television series. Millions of players have found their way into the franchise over the last few weeks, with new records being set and Bethesda Game Studios revelling in the power that a multimedia franchise has over a modern audience.

Of course, a new popular medium like the Fallout TV show warrants creating a lot of merchandise, with manufacturers leaning on every angle to make a little moolah. Recently, a replica backpack made to mirror Lucy’s backpack (the main character from the show) emerged online, with an eye-watering price tag of £199.99.

Too Many Caps

I’m as big a Fallout fan as you could ever hope to meet, and even I’m sceptical about spending £200 on a backpack. While Fallout merchandise tends to be high-quality and worth the investment, this is one of the most expensive pieces ever released in the line-up of collectables that span the 25-year-old franchise.

Even the recently-revealed working Pip-Boy device – a replica from the television show – doesn’t cost that much.

Here are some tidbits that might sway you on your purchase, though:

  • Great for cosplayers (which is why it’s so expensive)
  • Boasts a 20-litre capacity with zippered pockets and a laptop compartment
  • Authentic to the television series with iconic branding
  • Comes with a ‘thick yellow fleece blanket’ to ‘complete the look’
  • Made from resilient fabric and certified vegan leather

Is that enough for you to want to spend £200 on it? It’s being released on September 30, 2024 – so you’ve got plenty of time to make your mind up.
