In a post on X (that’s the first time I’ve referred to it as that), Epic Games teased an impending Fallout-themed update to Fortnite, the legendary battle royale game. In a simple post, we see the bust of a suit of power armour, a figure that has been all over our screens since the Fallout TV show was released on April 10.
Furthermore, a reference in the game’s news feed suggested that the Brotherhood of Steel – the most recognisable faction in the Fallout universe – will help to usher in Chapter 5, Season 3, which is set to be released on May 24.
Fallout, But How?
That’s all there is to know about the upcoming Fallout crossover event in Fortnite. It hasn’t been confirmed in what capacity the crossover will work, and it could be anything from full-blown skins to music, emotes, and backbling bundles. It’s easy to imagine a collaboration between Bethesda Game Studios and Epic Games that would see the Amazon-backed Fallout TV show ported into the world of Fortnite.
For instance, I could imagine a variety of skin packs including the three core characters from the recently released television show: Lucy, Maximus, and The Ghoul (Cooper). They’d fit very nicely in the world of Fortnite, given that they all have signature weapons, tropes, and even quips. If I were a betting man, I’d say that’s what’s on the way from May 24.
Keep a weather eye on the horizon – the Brotherhood of Steel is coming to Fortnite, and who knows what else?
