Fallout 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 next year in honor of its anniversary, announced today for Fallout Day.
The iconic Bethesda series has been going strong for almost 30 years. The last mainline release, Fallout 4, came out in 2015 to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, the series has never made the jump to Nintendo Switch outside of Fallout Shelter. That is, until now, as the game will make its way to the new console.
Fallout 4 Releasing in 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2
Announced during the Fallout Day celebration livestream, Fallout 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The game will contain all released DLC plus new content as part of the Anniversary Edition. No specific release date or pricing has been given for the game. A description of the game is available as well, saying,
The definitive edition of Fallout 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. It’s been ten years since players first stepped out of Vault 111 and into the post-nuclear world. To mark the occasion, Bethesda Game Studios is thrilled to announce Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition. This is the ultimate celebration of a beloved classic, bringing together the complete Fallout 4 experience on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
Weirdly, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will not launch on November 10th alongside the actual release of the Anniversary Edition. As it seems with other titles, the Switch version take a lot longer to do than others. One only has to look at the delays for Borderlands 4 to see the process. However, this marks the first time a main Fallout title has gone to Nintendo Switch. The series did bring Fallout Shelter to the original Switch, but no other titles have made the jump. If there was any, outside New Vegas, that are great starters, Fallout 4 fits the bill.
