The last main title in the franchise, The Sims 4, was released all the way back in 2014, making it officially 10 years old. So many had expected a new title to be out by now.
Well, it seems that EA is going all in on this new Sims game, making sure it’s as perfect as ever. While no release date has been announced, it can be presumed that the game will more than likely not be released during 2024.
Many expect the game’s release window to be between 2025 and 2026, but only time will tell.
Will The Sims 5 be Free-to-play?
One important detail that was included with the game’s announcement was the fact that The Sims 5 will be free-to-play. The game also will be getting constant updates, as EA plans to evolve the Sims 5 over time.
This will potentially mean there will be no new Sims game after The Sims 5 for quite a long time. The Sims 5 will constantly be getting new material added to it, with EA hoping that players will stay playing the game for the long run.

As of now, little is known about what platforms The Sims 5 will be playable on, except the PC and phone. When the game was announced, it was also revealed that the game would work on both PC and mobile, making it incredibly versatile.
