ESL has announced the invites to ESL Pro League Season 24, which will see Counter-Strike return to Katowice for the first time since IEM Katowice’s move to Kraków.
The 16-team event is a reduced field compared to previous 24-team pro leagues, allowing the full event to be played on LAN, culminating in the eight-team playoffs at the historic Spodek Arena.

The following teams are set to contest ESL Pro League Season 24 in Katowice from October 3-11.

The invites were calculated using the August 3 VRS snapshot, with seeding for groups decided closer to the event, on September 21.
12 of the 16 teams were invited via global Valve Regional Standings ranking, with the remaining four coming from the ESL Challengers League online circuits for Europe, North America, South America, and Asia-Pacific.
M80, TYLOO, and Argentina’s ShindeN won their regional ESL Challengers League titles. 1win earned the slot by having the core of the TDK team that won the European Challenger League season, with Petr ‘fame’ Bolyshev and Andrey ‘BELCHONOKK’ Yasinski completing the newly formed roster.
The Challengers League circuit is one of the few chances for Tier 2/3 teams to circumvent VRS ranking and earn an invite directly to a Tier 1 event, in this case, two ESL Pro Leagues per year have slots for ECL teams.
The ESL Challenger League was recently announced as a Kick exclusive tournament after the news that ESL’s Counter-Strike and Dota 2 esports would be broadcast on the platform.
