Escape from Tarkov will come to console ‘someday’ according to Battlestate Games’ Nikita Buyanov, but before that, it’s slated to be released on Game Boy.
During a recent episode of Tarkov TV, Buyanov addressed the question that gets asked all the time – when is Escape from Tarkov coming to console? His answer surprised fans, but if you’ve got this far and you think he’s being serious, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.
What did Nikita mean?
He Meant Nothing
Nikita’s claim that Escape from Tarkov is coming to Game Boy was nothing more than a joke. The Russian studio head is well known for his sense of humour, which has often resulted in some hilarious segments from the Tarkov TV live broadcasts.
In the most recent episode of Tarkov TV, Nikita revealed the imminent future of Escape from Tarkov, including the claim that the game will be released as a 1.0 title this year after a few more major updates. It’s not the first time the team has claimed the full release is coming soon, but it seems like the game is more ready now than ever before.
Nikita also touched on the topic of a Tarkov console release, explaining:
Someday, but before that, we will releas EFT on Game Boy.
Yes.
Damirka was lurking in the background, agreeing with Nikita by uttering a simple phrase: ‘Yeee.’
Tarkov releasing on Gameboy confirmed
It’s cool to imagine what a retro Tarkov title would look like, miniaturised for the Game Boy. It could be like a classic Pokémon title, but instead of catching pocket monsters, you’re hunting down collectable Scavs, or something.
