Battlestate Games has lifted the lid on the first season (by number only) of Escape from Tarkov: Arena, dubbed ‘Tempus Campionum’. It follows the launch of ‘Season 0’, which debuted a few months back with the game’s first battle pass. It was a testing ground of sorts, and now the real action can begin in season one.
What’s not clear is whether the battle pass for Tempus Campionum will be free or if it’ll have a price tag. If it does have a price tag, what will it look like, and how receptive will players be to it?
Speculations on Tempus Campionum
In Latin, Tempus Campionum means ‘Time of the Champions’, and so far, that’s all we have to work on for season one of Escape from Tarkov Arena.
The ‘opening season’ of the game featured over 100 unique rewards that were completely free to obtain, even if you needed to grind like hell to get them all. They included things like tactical clothing sets, weapon skins, in-game currency, and randomized supply crates, most of which traversed the border between Escape from Tarkov and Arena.
In a post on social media, Battlestate Games unveiled the next season of Escape from Tarkov: Arena, revealing that it’ll be released at some point in October. This will be ahead of the full launch of Escape from Tarkov, set to take place on November 15. This is also in addition to Escape from Tarkov finally being released on Steam to an entirely new audience.
Earlier this year, Escape from Tarkov: Arena was released on the Epic Games Store, marking the first time that an EFT title appeared somewhere other than BSG’s proprietary launcher. It has since amassed an overall player rating of 4.3 stars on the storefront.
Players have started speculating about what the first real season of Escape from Tarkov: Arena will entail, and how much the battle pass will cost, if it indeed has a price tag attached to it. I’m assuming it will be around $10, but who knows?
