Escape from Tarkov Arena might not have reached the lofty heights of popularity that the core extraction shooter experience has, but it’s not doing too badly for itself. As a companion title for Battlestate Games’ extraction epic, Arena has maintained a decent following since being released at the end of 2023.
BSG has worked to constantly evolve the game, too. They’ve added new maps, modes, weapons, game mechanics, and integrations with Escape from Tarkov. Soon, the game will undergo a major update with the introduction of the third season of content. In a recent social media post, Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio, revealed it’s going to be the biggest season yet.
Morbus Imperium Will Be Huge
Morbus Imperium is the name of the third Escape from Tarkov Arena season, and it’s scheduled to drop late in October. The team at Battlestate Games has already started teasing the imminent arrival of the update, especially Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio at Battlestate.
In a post on social media, Buyanov wrote that this will be the biggest Arena update ever:
In terms of numbers, that’s not so tough. It’s only the third season that the game will have had, but it’s indicative of a step in the right direction with the game’s ongoing development. It’s worth pointing out that not too much has been revealed for the third season, but there are a few bits.
For instance, an updated Blastgang mode is coming, as is a new map themed around Escape from Tarkov’s ‘Lab’ environment. As you can imagine, there will also be a new battle pass and stacks of rewards to unlock.
