Escape From Playtime, Poppy Playtime’s Multiplayer Spin-Off, Launches Open Beta Today

Poppy Playtime has become one of the biggest names in horror, and now the franchise is expanding into multiplayer with Escape From Playtime, a co-op survival horror spin-off that begins its Open Beta today, October 1.

Trapped inside the infamous toy factory, you and up to three friends will need to work together to survive as rejected Playtime Co. creations stalk the halls around you. The Open Beta gives players their first chance to jump into the experience, ahead of its Early Access launch on October 21.

What Is Escape From Playtime?

Features

Work Together To Survive

Escape From Playtime is built around co-op, with up to four players exploring the factory together as tiny Critters in search of resources.

Proximity chat is available, meaning you’ll be able to communicate with your friends as you explore the factory, although that could become a little more difficult when the group starts disappearing into the darkness.

Procedurally Generated Action

Unlike the more linear structure of Poppy Playtime’s traditional Chapters, Escape From Playtime is designed with replayability in mind.

Every run features a procedurally generated map, meaning you and your friends will have to adapt to a different layout each time you enter the factory. You’ll also have to contend with the unique challenges that come with playing as tiny Critters.

More Content Is Coming

The Open Beta starts today, and you can already check out our thoughts in our preview, but this is just the beginning for Escape From Playtime.

The game will enter Early Access on October 21, launching with eight playable characters, a starter zone, and a selection of enemies to encounter. More zones and enemies will then be added over time as Mob Entertainment continues to expand the experience.

The Studio Behind Escape From Playtime

Escape From Playtime is being developed by Mob Entertainment, the studio behind Poppy Playtime.

Since launching its debut horror game, Mob Entertainment has expanded Poppy Playtime into a wider transmedia franchise, and Escape From Playtime represents another step in growing that universe.
