Embark Studios CEO Patrick Söderlund responds to players who aren’t fully satisfied with the current ARC Raiders roadmap.
In a sea of live service games that can turn into a watery grave far too soon, ARC Raiders has managed to catch on and become a hit with players worldwide. It even won Best Multiplayer Game at the Game Awards in 2025.
Embark recently released a roadmap for the game detailing upcoming additions, including new maps and more. However, not all players are fully satisfied with the game’s current direction, as they feel the roadmap doesn’t provide enough incentive to keep playing.
Embark CEO Acknowledges Player Frustration With ARC Raiders Roadmap
In an interview with IGN, Patrick Söderlund was asked what he would say to players who weren’t satisfied with the recent plan. Notably, he wants dissatisfied players to understand that they are heard, and he even claims he would feel the same if he were in their shoes, but only because they do not yet have full details.
“If we get into the studio development schedule and make that public, we’re probably going to be in a world of hurt,” he said.
Furthermore, Söderlund stated that they are developing things as they go. However, he says players will see that the patch notes are very detailed and that the organization wants to be seen as transparent. He knows that some won’t forgive if they cannot deliver on certain wants, but his main goal is to provide continuous updates to the game, saying he feels it’s worth its $40 price tag.
“From the beginning of January, whenever everyone was back, we’re working around the clock to deliver as much content as we can to players,” he said.
Players can check out the full roadmap here. Insider Gaming will continue to provide future updates on when new content will come to ARC Raiders.

You just can’t please today’s gaming community. I’m a world full of participation trophies and instant gratification people have gotten it into their heads that everything should be that way. If Embark reveals too much upfront then it kind of traps them into a do or die scenario. If they release too little people complain it’s not enough to satisfy them. They have to find a middle ground and I think they’ve done that so far. Players need to learn a little patience.
Lol, “patience” when a company purposely releases a game around Christmas then says “games out, peace y’all, we’re taking a vacation”, no one has an issue they went on vacation, we have an issue that their game literally just dropped and they abandoned all tech support. One, AT LEAST, one person needs to stay in the office to make sure things still go smoothly. I don’t know any successful company that would tell ALL of their IT department to take a holiday, thats just poor business practice. Also, for a CEO to come out and directly say “Players shouldnt focus on killing each other” when the game has PvP in it, is insane to say out loud. That’s like telling someone in an RPG not to pick up anything, it’s not going to happen. Won’t even get started on how they “found PvP boring and it’d be dead”, yet look at every other PvE focused game. Lol, Helldivers still gets players daily 🤣
Agreed. I’ve played around 300 hours already and I’m still enjoying it. I’ve definitely had my £40 worth. The studio can’t win really. They made a great game with a small team and I hope they continue making a ton of money from it and ignore the few no lifers who just want, want, want. I’m sure that isn’t how the vast majority of players feel. Any extra content from this point is just a bonus to what is already a great experience in my view. Id never touched or been interested in an extraction shooter before Arc Raiders.
I think it’s a good game could do with more maps .but most of all I think it needs to rethink the blue prints and trophies .as some people aren’t as good as pc players and streamers. . I feel it’s to hard to source stuff to complete the trophy part .as stellar montise isn’t an easy map for ordinary players and it can get very frustrating and boring trying to find things that are only set in certain locations. .You have to understand that some people like the open spaces and some people like running around inside buildings. The stuff you need needs to have a larger area and multiple locations to find things. I think it’s ok if your a player that can sit there always playing the ruff areas but for most who have jobs and work and don’t get the time to look for stuff going in to stellar montis is a nightmare .please have the items more evenly spread out over different maps not just one .apart from this the game is one of the best I have played
I’ve been playing this game for a couple months now. And it just seems like you can’t even get your task done because all raters want to do is kill you. And steal your items. It really just makes the game ugly and unpleasant to play. When you can’t even have 2 minutes in the game. Before you’re being jumped by greedy raiders. Who can’t earn their own items? only know how to steal them. It’s really sad. I wish you could put Raiders like that in their own special game and people like me. That just wanna play the game. The way it’s meant to in our own category… Even my sons don’t like playing it anymore because of how foul raiders have become..
You seem to be inder the mosunderstanding that only you are playing the game correctly and everyone else “cant earn their own items” and youre not the first. Ive been woken up to an entire sphere of gamers who hate every form of PvP and are somehow, someway tricked into playing ganes that involve PvP only to literally whine about it endlessly
Dude, I can run from one side of the other and back and only have to worry about Arc. It’s awesome, but i still have fun when i join my pvp friends as well. I only shoot when shotbat tho. Only 15 kills in 52 hours.
People pay their hard earned money for the game and shouldn’t have to feel frustrated and cheated by people who shoot them in the back,
I got jumped by someone the other day and had a free load out only.
I managed to get a headshot on him and we both died.
The rat started screaming obscenities at me calling me a pussy bitch.
At the least the name of the person who kills you should be given so that people like this can be reported.
On the other side of the game, looting gets tiresome doing the same thing again and again and again looking for the blueprints you don’t have.
I think all the fun has gone out of it for me. Spoiled by the rats that shoot you in the back and spoiled by spawning into area with nothing left.
